You Are More Than Your Worst Mistake

There’s a lie many people carry in silence:

“I am what I did.” A charge. A bad decision. A season of broken choices. The world loves labels—but God deals in redemption.

In Romans 8:1 the Bible says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Notice it doesn’t say less condemnation.

It says no condemnation. At Felons For Christ Ministries, we believe people are not defined by their rap sheet, their addiction, or their past failures. We believe they are defined by the God who created them and the Savior who redeemed them. Your mistake may explain part of your story—but it does not determine your ending.

God used:

  • Moses, a murderer

  • David, an adulterer

  • Paul, a persecutor

And He still uses people today who are willing to surrender their past and walk in faith. If you’re struggling to forgive yourself, hear this: God already paid the price for your sin on the cross. When you keep punishing yourself, you’re holding onto something Jesus already nailed down. Let today be the day you stop rehearsing your failure and start walking in your calling.

A Prayer for Those Starting Over

Father God, I surrender my past to You. Heal the shame, silence the lies, and remind me that I am forgiven, redeemed, and called. Help me walk forward in freedom and faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
